A one-day live and interactive seminar

Countertransference & Therapist Self-Disclosure in EMDR Therapy is a one-day, live, interactive online seminar designed to deepen and refine your EMDR practice. This seminar explores countertransference through multiple clinical lenses and examines how it may uniquely emerge across the eight phases of EMDR therapy. Using clinical vignettes, small-group breakout discussions, and applied reflection, participants will develop greater awareness of their use of self in EMDR work. Practical strategies for working with countertransference are offered, drawing on EMDR therapy, the theory of structural dissociation, and related frameworks—carefully adapted for EMDR clinicians. The day concludes with a focused exploration of therapist self-disclosure within EMDR therapy. While grounded in theory, the emphasis is on thoughtful, practical application to everyday clinical work.

Costs

The cost for this 1-day seminar is $295 (New Zealand Dollar, incl' of GST).

Entry Criteria

The EMDR Recent + Group Traumatic Episode Protocols, or in short R-TEP & G-TEP, are considered EMDR Early Intervention protocols, for individuals and groups, developed by Elan Shapiro and Brurit Laub. The protocols have been used extensively, in-person and online, in dozens of countries world-wide after disasters, terrorist attacks,  workplace trauma, family violence, life threatening illness and more. The evidence base for EMDR early intervention is significant, and growing. The book "EMDR Group TherapyEmerging Principles and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond" (eds. Regina Morrow Robinson and Safa Kemal Kaptan, 2023) offers an inspiring account of the existing EMDR group protocols - including G-TEP - and the innovative, creative ways in which clinicians world wide have been putting those to use.

R-TEP and G-TEP offer a systematic and comprehensive approach to Early EMDR Intervention. They include advanced strategies for containment, safety and healing. Applying these protocols allows EMDR therapists to help more people, sooner. They can be used within days to months after a traumatic event. The containing nature of the G-TEP and R-TEP protocols can also be used to a good effect with clients for whom the EMDR Standard Protocol is "too much", even when the trauma(s) happened a long time ago. Nowadays the 2-day training also includes the G-REP ( Group Resourcing Experiences Protocol), a new protocol that focuses on resourcing, and can be used for stabilisation and resilience enhancement when treating the trauma is not yet possible.

Costs

The cost for the 2-day course is $650 (New Zealand Dollar, incl' of GST).

Entry Criteria

Participants in the training need to have completed at least Part 1 of the EMDR Basic Training.

Clinicians trained in G-TEP are invited to register a

Flash-TEP Workshop

Online: 27 Feb, 12:00-14:30

Flash-TEP integrates the Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) with the Flash Technique. It offers a gentler and less activating approach to group trauma work, and can serve as a useful protocol option in situations where full trauma processing may not be appropriate or immediately possible.

This workshop will explore the theoretical foundations of Flash-TEP, its key advantages, and core procedural steps. Participants will be guided through a structured role-play experience and introduced to the broader TEP Suite protocol hierarchy, including the Group Resource Enhancement Protocol (G-REP). The training will also highlight where Flash-TEP sits within this framework and how it can be thoughtfully integrated into clinical practice.

Costs

The cost for this live workshop is $100 (New Zealand Dollar, incl' of GST).

Entry Criteria

Participants in the training need to have attended G-TEP training previously.

"Thanks Tal - The training was great and I really enjoyed your presentation style!
I am so appreciative that you offered it online -
I found the online training equivalent to face to face trainings, the break rooms worked really well and I felt a sense of cohesion with my small practice group. Great Experience!"
